RN Branch Director - Lazarus House Hospice | Gentiva Health Services | Cookeville, TN

As a Branch Director, you will:
- Work in collaboration with sales, operations, clinical support,
compliance, finance, human resources and other 'business/support
partners' to assess market potential; develop and deliver quality
services; and build/maintain client relationships.
- Develop annual branch budget and monitors expenditures to ensure
compliance with approved budgetary constraints. Analyze gross profit
factors, market conditions, business volume/mix, competition and
operational costs/requirements. Determine required expansions and cost
reductions in consultation with Area and Regional Vice Presidents.
- Work closely with sales counterpart to expand new and existing client
base. Negotiates contracts with referral sources, third party payers and
government agencies and ensures clients are provided with quality
services. Implements, evaluates and drives tactical/operational change
to effectively utilize resources, remove obstacles and achieve branch
sales growth and financial goals.
- Work with branch clinical leadership and additional clinical resources
to oversee patient intake/inquiries, assess patient needs, ensure branch
staff skills are matched to patient care requirements and to
prepare/monitor work schedules to ensure effective coverage.
- Recommend new programs as appropriate and implements company sponsored
programs(clinical, marketing, risk management, etc.)in compliance with
company guidelines.
- Collaborate across boundaries and inspires consensus by consistently
sharing information, responsibilities and decision making with others in
pursuit of a common goal. Adheres to a consistent, effective set of
values; treats people with respect and dignity; and cultivates mutual
trust and confidence.
- Effectively communicate the Company's corporate goals, mission and
objectives to branch staff. Increase company visibility by participating
in community/professional organizations.
- Direct branch operations to ensure quality service consistent with
applicable government laws / regulations and corporate
policies/guidelines/standards.
- Consult with area/region/corporate staff and clinical delivery/business
contacts to identify solutions to patient needs, concerns and
challenges. Conducts meetings with administrative and clinical
associates, patients and their families, referral sources and third
party payers to provide information and resolve issues as needed.
- Work with recruiter(s) to identify and hire branch administrative and
clinical associates. Manage people in a 'teaching-thinking' rather than
punitive manner and develops bench strength. Challenge others to
identify alternatives for efficiencies and quality improvement and
believes unequivocally in self, team and organization to achieve /
effect positive results.
- Delegate ownership and responsibility for specific and challenging
goals and fosters a creative, innovative, thinking environment where
team is successful through accountability for meeting / exceeding goals
and performance levels. Monitor performance to ensure quality, business
integrity and accuracy, and makes provisions for ongoing staff
development.
- Direct branch billing, payroll and data entry activities and assists in
assessing patient credit limits. Review pay/bill rates to ensure that
company Days Sales Outstanding standards/goals are achieved and
maintained. Coordinates with Financial Services Unit for accounts
receivables activities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sales / Marketing,
Nursing, Social Work, Healthcare Administration, Hospice or the
equivalent, plus a minimum of five years operations experience with
strong focus on sales and business development, and two years
supervisory / administrative experience.
- Prior success in revenue growth and in the development and execution of
market planning and leadership
- Budget and profit and loss statement management experience
- Outstanding leadership, managerial, oral/written communication and
interpersonal skills
